In Loving Memory of Al Eisenberg
Al Eisenberg, a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully in his home surrounded by family, leaving behind a legacy of kindness, compassion, and service to others.
Born on March 21, 1931, in Houston, Texas, Al lived a life grounded in integrity and a deep care for those around him, especially those in need. He had a remarkable ability to connect with people through both his words and his actions. Whether helping Alzheimer’s patients at The Gathering Place find joy through painting or supporting causes such as Ronald McDonald House and The Food Bank, Al’s life was defined by giving.
A proud veteran, Al served in the United States Air Force and was honorably discharged, carrying with him a lifelong commitment to service. He was also a very proud graduate of Texas A&M University, Class of 1953, GIG ‘EM AGGIES!!, a distinction he cherished deeply. His love for his Aggie roots was so well known that his grandchildren and great-grandchildren affectionately called him “Aggie.”
Al found great joy in painting, driving his classic cars, and repairing his collection of antique clocks. His artwork was more than a hobby; it was his way of expressing gratitude and bringing smiles to others. He was known for gifting hand-painted bouquets of flowers, often presented with a warm smile and his signature phrase: “Just be sure you keep them watered.” These gestures captured both his creativity and his generous spirit.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 70 years, Marilynn; his children, Eric Eisenberg and Susie Comstock (David); and his grandchildren, Ryan Argo (Lindsay), Marcella O’Connor (Ed), Sammy Argo (Jenelle), Erin Eisenberg, Celeste Arthurs (Chris), and Zane, all of whom brought him immense pride and joy.
Al will be remembered for his kindness, strength, and compassion, as well as his special “gift of gab” that made everyone feel welcome and valued. He never knew a stranger. His presence, humor, and warmth will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Congregation Shma Koleinu. https://www.cskhouston.com/give
He will be deeply missed, always remembered, and forever loved.
